Business phones on the same support desk as your IT.
OctoVoIP is our own hosted phone platform. Desk phones in the office, apps on every device, call recording and summaries, and one team responsible for all of it.

The phone system on the wall was fine until people stopped sitting next to it.
Traditional phone systems assumed everyone was in one building on one line. Hybrid working broke that, and the UK’s analogue and ISDN networks are being switched off, with the final deadline set for January 2027.
OctoVoIP is our own hosted phone platform. Handsets in the office, apps on laptops and mobiles, one number that follows people wherever they work, and one company to ring when something is wrong.
Everything you would expect, plus the bits most providers don’t offer.
Hosted in our own cloud
No phone system on site to maintain, and nothing to fail when the office loses power.
Apps for every device
iOS, Android and Windows apps, so remote staff have a real extension rather than a diverted mobile.
Call routing that fits
Hunt groups, queues, time-of-day routing, holiday diaries and menus you can change yourself.
Call recording
Per user or per team, with the retention period you choose.
Transcripts and AI summaries
Calls can be transcribed and summarised, with the summary attached to the right customer or ticket.
Missed-call follow-up
Missed calls from known contacts are chased automatically so nobody assumes someone else rang back.
Voicemail to email
Voicemails arrive as email with a written transcription.
UK numbers anywhere
Keep your existing numbers, add geographic or 03 numbers for any area, and route them wherever you like.
We are not reselling someone else’s support line.
OctoVoIP runs on our platform and our service desk. A crackly line or a routing change is a ticket with us, not a queue at a telco that has never heard of your business. And because we usually supply the broadband too, there is no argument about whose fault the call quality is.

Design
We map how calls should flow: who answers what, what happens out of hours, where overflow goes.
Week 1Build and test
The platform is configured and handsets are pre-provisioned. You test on temporary numbers while the old system stays live.
Weeks 2 to 3Port and go live
Numbers move on an agreed date, usually mid-morning, with us on site.
Weeks 4 to 6
Porting timescales are set by the losing provider, typically two to six weeks. We run the process and keep you updated.
“As my business grew it was clear we needed to do something regarding our phone lines and computer services. We approached Matt at Octotech who has been great supplying us with all the computer protection we need [and] a voice over IP system which allows us to have multiple phone lines into our business. Without this service we would have struggled to get through the recent pandemic as Octotech’s service has allowed us to work from home seamlessly.”
Questions we get asked
What is a VoIP phone system?
A VoIP phone system makes and receives calls over the internet instead of traditional phone lines. It is hosted in the cloud, so desk phones, laptop apps and mobile apps all work as extensions of the same business number.
Will call quality be as good as a normal line?
On a decent connection, yes. On networks we manage, voice traffic is prioritised so a large upload doesn’t spoil a call. If your connection isn’t up to it, we will say so at survey stage, and we can supply the line too.
What happens if our internet goes down?
The phone system lives in the cloud, so it stays up. Calls divert to mobiles or another site under rules you set in advance, and the apps keep working on 4G.
Can we keep our numbers?
Yes. Geographic numbers port across, and you can add new ones. Porting usually takes two to six weeks.
Do we need new handsets?
Not always. Many recent VoIP handsets can be moved onto our platform. Analogue and ISDN handsets can’t. We will tell you what you can keep before you spend anything.
Is call recording legal?
Yes, with the right notice and a legitimate purpose. We set up the announcements and retention periods to match.
