A good network is one nobody thinks about.
Most office networks are a cupboard of accumulated decisions: a firewall set up six years ago, a switch added for the new desks, access points positioned wherever there was a socket. It works until it doesn’t, and nobody is sure what is connected to what.
We design, install and monitor the whole thing as one system: firewall, switching, cabling and wireless, with every device visible on one screen and every change written down.
What we look after.
Site survey and design
Wireless surveys based on your building, not guesswork, and a design documented before anything is ordered.
Managed firewalls
Configured, updated, monitored and backed up, with cloud-driven intrusion prevention and rules reviewed rather than forgotten.
Switching and VLANs
Guests, cameras, card machines and plant kept away from business data. Required by most compliance schemes.
Business WiFi
Cloud-managed WiFi with seamless roaming and capacity for the number of devices people actually carry.
Guest WiFi
Separate, filtered guest access with an optional branded sign-in page.
Firmware within 14 days
Updates applied and evidenced, which Cyber Essentials requires and most networks miss.
Multi-site and VPN
Secure links between offices and for remote workers.
Office moves and fit-outs
Cabling, cabinets and kit moved out of hours and tested before anyone arrives.
Every switch and access point, on one screen.
Our platform pulls in every network device we manage, shows its status and firmware, links it to your asset records and to the circuit feeding the site. Offline kit raises a ticket. Restarting a stuck access point is a button, not a site visit.
Illustration.
“We recently moved in to the same office building as Octotech and due to some technical issues there, Nick helped us out with our IT requirements. It was only due to his efficiency with ordering the extra equipment and then fitting it, moving in was therefore seamless.”
Questions we get asked
What is managed WiFi?
Managed WiFi is a business wireless network that a provider designs, installs, monitors and updates for you. Access points are controlled from the cloud, so problems are spotted and fixed remotely and firmware stays current.
Why does our WiFi drop in one part of the building?
Usually access points placed for convenience rather than coverage, or too many devices on one radio. It is rarely a case of buying more kit. Often the existing hardware just needs moving and reconfiguring.
Can you work with our landlord or fit-out contractor?
Yes. On moves and fit-outs we deal directly with the building, the cabling contractor and the carrier, and give you one plan with lead times.
Do we have to replace our existing equipment?
No. We assess what you have, keep what is supported and sensible, and plan replacements around warranty and firmware end dates.
Can guests use our WiFi safely?
Yes, on a separate filtered network that can’t see your business systems, with an optional branded sign-in page.

Is the network the reason things feel slow?
We will look at what you have and tell you whether it is the line, the kit or the configuration.
